The deck is complete!

My uncle and aunt have been getting their house ready to sell and this weekend they finished the big deck that connects in the back and around the house. We went over Saturday afternoon to check it out and BBQ.

Lilly Update

I just wanted to post a few pictures of my niece Lilly. She is growing so fast and just gets cuter every time I see her! She will be 6 months on September 11. Mommy and daddy are looking good as well if I do say so myself!

Peyton the watch dog....I think NOT!!!

Last night after getting home I let Peyton outside on the patio because she likes to just lay out there every once in awhile. A little bit later I look up to see Peyton crouched down and her back hair standing straight up. (This is her, "I'm scared look.") It was dark so I was having trouble figuring out what could possibly be scaring her on our porch. After looking a little closer, I found the very big and scary culprit that was scaring my little princess...
I think I have a better chance with Gunther protecting me if I ever need it. Although, Peyton isn't afraid of spiders...she actually likes to play with those for awhile before she eats them!

Twin Falls Hike

On Tuesday Derek and I decided to go on another hike. This time we hiked Twin Falls, which is by North Bend. The hike was very pretty with the falls and all the greenery. Peyton is becoming such a pro and we really don't have to worry about her getting tired anymore. She absolutely loves the outdoors!

Peyton...the great traveler!

Our trip to Spokane was the longest road trip Peyton has been on and we weren't quite sure how she was going to do. We took her little kennel, which is what we have used in the past when she goes on car rides, but before we even got out of Seattle we decided to let her out and see how she could handle being loose in the car. Well, she did absolutely wonderful!! She curled up in the back seat on her blanket and slept most of the way only getting up every once in awhile to check things out and then lay back down.
She also did quite well at Aunt Vicki's house, except for the fact that Peyton likes to eat flowers and Vicki's backyard is full of them! Other then the flower eating and occasionally trying to take Bairly's bone, Peyton was a pretty good house guest.
Petyon's favorite place to sleep at night was under our bed!

Congratulations Brooke and Jesse!!!

My good friend from high school got married on Saturday! The wedding took place at her parents' house on Long Lake and it was so beautiful. It was great seeing all my friends again as I hadn't seen most of them since my wedding. There was also plenty of dancing, partying, and catching up with people I hadn't seen since high school.

We also stayed at Derek's aunt's house so we were able to get a lot of visiting in with Vicki and some of Derek's cousins and grandparents. If your reading this Vicki, thanks again for letting us stay with you!! We had a great time and Peyton sure loves her bone!

Peyton's First Hike

This weekend was very fun and full of activity. On Saturday we decided to take Peyton on her first hike up to Greider Lake, which is about 45 minutes past Sultan. The hike was 5 miles and pretty steep, but Peyton impressed both Derek and myself with how well she did. She only needed a little help getting over a couple of really high obstacles, but other than that, she did great. She even got to see snow for the first time and really seemed to like it.

Derek and Peyton both went for a quick swim in the glacial water (Derek learned that logs float) and it seemed like neither one of them really liked water that cold.

After the hike we went to my aunt and uncle's to visit with them. My dad was also already up there dirt biking. My mom and sister also met us there for a BBQ and a campfire. Dave and Ann's is always a lot of fun!

Jenny loves to play in Ann's swim spa!!

We spent the night at my parent's house and then we all went to breakfast the next morning. (Matt and Kori were also in town again) After that Derek and I drove to Tolt to go mountain biking at a new place. It was pretty fun, but the trails were pretty advanced for me. I'll just say that the 1 mile trail to get up to all the other trails was called "It's a Bitch" and they weren't joking! We mountain biked for about an hour and decided to call it quits.

Overall, another great weekend with awesome weather!!
