Happy Anniversary!

Exactly 2 years ago today, Derek surprised me by taking me up to Mt. St. Helens and proposing in front of the mountain. That was the best surprise of my life and I will never forget that day. I have to say he did a great job at planning the proposal as well. He came prepared with a blanket to sit on, strawberries and champagne to celebrate, as well as a cell phone to call my friends and family to share the news!

Family, friends, and fun

This weekend really made up for the last two weekends of Derek and I both being pretty sick. Friday night we met up with Chad and my friend Gina in Seattle for dinner and to just hang out and visit. On Saturday I spent the morning at my parent's house visiting and helping with a garage sell my mom was doing while Derek took Peyton mountain biking. Saturday afternoon we went to Greenlake and walked around the park for about an hour and let Peyton run around. After that we met up with some of Derek's friends for a very good happy hour followed by a great game played by the Sounders. They beat San Jose 2-0 and really dominated the whole game. On Sunday we spent the day running some errands, taking Peyton to the dog park, and then spending the evening with Gina, Tyson, Megan, Aiden, and Liam. Overall it was a very fun but busy weekend. Those are my favorite kinds!!

A sunny Seattle is a beautiful Seattle

Yes, I complain about the rain and the clouds that cover Seattle what seems like most of the year. However, when it is sunny and somewhat warm here, there really is no other place I would rather be. Seattle is a gorgeous place with beautiful mountains that surround it, as well as all the unique buildings that are in it. Except for the 7 or 8 years that I lived in Spokane, I have lived in Seattle all my life and consider it my home. Oh, and you see Mt. Rainier in the background? Derek tends to claim that it is "his mountain," but I want to set the record straight. Despite what he thinks or says, it is "my mountain." Growing up in Renton, I was able to see Mt. Rainier every day from my house and that is one view that I will never forget. Okay, maybe not every day, but every sunny or partly sunny day!

*You may be wondering where all these random posts are starting to come from and what the point of them are. Well, Derek has started to pick random pictures and sending them to me and my job is to blog about them. It actually is quite fun and even challenging at times. I never know what is going to be sent my way next, so if they start to get really random and don't even really seem to have a point or make sense, that is the reason why.

Seattle's newest addition

Seattle finally has a professional soccer team!! Being a huge soccer fan, I am so excited about this and so far they are doing very well. They lost their first game last weekend after having to play a player down and with their third string goal keeper, due to their starting keeper getting red carded fairly early in the first half. It would be even cooler if Seattle actually got a GOOD sports team!! I think the Sounders might pull through for them.

I am even more excited that Derek got us tickets for next weekends game!! Braedon and I had a little talk and he agreed that he wouldn't make his entrance until after the game!
