Blog worthy

You see that sliver on Derek’s finger?  That has been in the bottom of my foot all morning.  Braedon and I were goofing around and I was pushing him down the hallway in a moving box when this thing got jammed in my foot.  I was even wearing socks!  I had Derek take a look and he thought he got it all, but it has been hurting all morning, so I finally had him take a look again and he pulled this out after some poking around.  My foot feels much better now, thank you very much.

We have decided to move ourselves across the country and are selling/getting rid of pretty much everything and starting fresh in San Jose.  This week we have gotten a lot done and have gotten rid of a lot of stuff.

Baeo wants me to get a Wrangler…

So I guess that I will have to get one as my commuter car!

Washington DC part 2

On Sunday we got up at took the subway back down to where we left off on Saturday.  We spent a few hours in the Air and Space museum, ate lunch, walked to the Jefferson memorial, then along the river and back to our hotel to pick up our car and then drove to Hershey, PA.

Braedon loved this museum.  We didn’t take too many pictures because we were pretty busy chasing him around.

That’s the White House.

That and a nice, long walk along the river back to our hotel concluded our trip to DC.  We arrived in Hershey at around 5 so we ate dinner and then checked into our hotel so Braedon could swim and just run around.  The next morning we got up and headed to Chocolate World!

We went on a really fun tour of the place and then followed that up with a couple really fun activities.  Braedon got to work in a little factory with Hershey Kisses.

Here he is watching the chocolate come off the conveyer belt in to a tin can.  He’s hoping one of them will fall so he can grab a bite.

Unfortunately for him none did, but he helped himself anyway.

We also got to create our own candy bars!  We have been sharing them for dessert for the last two nights and it is the best chocolate ever.   Oh my…so good!!

We had to wear hair nets and aprons.  Braedon was NOT a fan of the hair net and he had to wear it to be in the factory part.

We picked what we wanted our candy bar to include.

Then we watched our candy bars being made.

We also got to design our own wrappers.

Washington DC

This week Derek is on spring break so we decided to take advantage of being on the east coast and did some exploring this weekend.  We left Ithaca at about 9 am on Friday and drove to DC where we explored the city Friday afternoon, all day on Saturday and part of the day on Sunday.  From DC we headed to Hershey, PA where we visited Chocolate World!  Probably the highlight of the trip for me!

Okay, so let me back up to Friday.  We arrived in Washington DC at about 3:30 and spent the afternoon walking around Georgetown exploring the shops and eating a nice dinner outside on the patio of one of the restaurants.  It was 72 degrees and we were soaking up every ounce of the warmth and the sun!

Saturday is when the real exploring started.  We set out at about 9 am and didn’t get back to our hotel until about 7 pm.  It was a long day and our feet were feeling it, but we got to see so much!  We started out by walking to the Lincoln memorial.

From the Korean War memorial we decided to walk a little out of the way for a Starbucks pick me up and then from there went to see the World War II memorial.

The memorial was gorgeous, but Braedon didn’t understand why he couldn’t go wading in the pools.  He kept trying to take his shoes off and getting in.  This did not make for a very happy Baeo.

From here we walked to the White House.

Cool, but not that exciting.

After we visited the White House we walked to get some lunch and then we spent the afternoon going through a National History Museum which was huge, the archives where we saw the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, a Natural History Museum and then a couple art museums.

After all of that it was about 5 pm and we were hungry.  We went to Ben’s Chili Bowl for dinner because we were told by a number of people that it was a must while we were in Washington.  This is Bill Cosby’s favorite restaurant and he comes from Philly to eat here often.  The Obama’s are also regulars as well as numerous other famous sports teams and people.  We waited in line for an hour and a half before we got our food, but it was worth the wait.  Delicious!  After dinner we made the trek back to our hotel and pretty much crashed!

Offer accepted…moving to San Jose

I just mailed in my offer acceptance paperwork for Adobe Systems as “Manager, Business Strategy” over the Creative Suite starting June 15th.  I have approached recruiting much differently than many other students as I left a great job at Accenture to further my career in a big way which meant that I was applying for only a few ideal jobs.  The good news is that my approach paid off as this role is exactly what I was hoping for upon completion of my MBA at Cornell (the only unfortunate aspect is that it is not in the same city as friends and family but it is just a short flight away)! 

The hard work and sacrifice over the last two years have paid off!

Braedon hugs and baby bumps

So I have never really been a fan of baby bump pictures and probably posted one on my blog when I was pregnant with Braedon.  However, I have gotten asked by a number of people to do so, and since we are clear across the United States, I thought I would post some baby bump love.

I have to say that I started showing a lot sooner than I did with Braedon, but I heard that is normal for your second baby so I am going to believe that and not worry that Baby P is going to be enormous.

Braedon loves to give Baby P hugs and when you ask him where his baby is he will point to my stomach.  It took him awhile to understand that the baby was in my tummy and when you would ask him where baby was he would point to one of my ta tas.  Yeah, wrong bump dude.

Braedon and dad also had some fun rough housing before bed tonight.  We turned up the music and just ran around and played.
