Gunther's Thanksgiving (Derek)

Thanksgiving is a really traumatic holiday for Gunther considering that during the first Thanksgiving, rabbit was on the menu. With the deep held resentment that Gunther has for the holiday, I decided to make him his very own dinner dish.

I made a salad which consisted of Gunther's favourite foods; lettuce, carrots, and dried bread. After our obligatory toost to our first Thanksgiving together, Gunther was served his meal. To our surprise, Gunther picked through his salad eating all of the bread and then took a nice long nap. I can say one thing for Gunther...despite his resentment of the holiday, he definitely knows what you're supposed to do after you're done eating!

How fancy is your Diet Pepsi? (Derek)

Even though Lacie may be a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl...she likes her beverages to be delivered with class.

I have to admit that the first time Lacie came out with two wine glasses filled with soda pop I couldn't stop laughing. BUT...you can't mock it until you try it. No longer can Lacie's carbonated beverage be misconstrued as a low class drink!

Lacie's Slacking! (Derek)

I keep reminding Lacie that it has been nearly a month since our last post so she definitely needs to blog about a few things. Her retort is that we have no new pictures and she has nothing to blog about. What she doesn't know is that blogs are really weird in that you can write anything and people will read it...even if you have "nothing to say". Some people are probably questioning the validity of my statement but look at Friends and Seinfeld. There are two immensely popular shows that have no true point.

We have no been in Kansas for over 5 months and we have found something that we really love about Kansas...the fall weather. It has been simply amazing here for the last month. The temperatures have been in the 60s and 70s and it hasn't rained in over 20 days. We have definitely been taking every opportunity to get out and enjoy the perfect weather.

Speaking of getting out, a couple of weeks ago we did a picnic in the park...our way. It was a Saturday so we had to do our weekly Saturday lunch of a Chipotle buritto bowl with chips but instead of eating it at Chipotle we went to the incredible local park (it is huge and has everything) and pitched a blanket. You are probably thinking that this doesn't sound all too weird but I haven't told you the best part. We brought our pet...rabbit...on a leash. At first Gunther was straight pissed that he was on a leash but after a while he got used to the harness and leash (we actually bought them that do so they were new to him) and really enjoyed himself. The funniest part was when a park ranger came over to us to find out what kind of animal we had (you can't have exotic animals in the park and I was holding Gunther so he couldn't really see that it was a rabbit) and to tell me to put it on a leash (he didn't see the leash either).

A few weeks ago Lacie and I went trail running in the park and I ended up screwing up a ligament in my ankle which hurt REALLY BAD whenever I would walk. After finally recovering (a whopping two weeks later) we decided to give the trail another go, but this time Lacie would run and I would mountain bike. It worked really well because we went opposite directions and we both put in enough time for it to be a good workout and very enjoyable. Too bad the weather is starting turn south...at least we will have a system for next spring!

The fun thing about writing without an objective is that you can wander aimlessly through your thoughts and take people on an interesting journey that could lead anywhere. The bad thing about it is that you really don't want to have to proofread and edit the writing because it will most likely take a lot of editing. With that said, I am not going to edit this writing so enjoy!

Pumpkin Carving

We carved pumpkins the other night. Derek's pirate ship turned out real nice, but I had a little trouble with mine! Even with a design to follow I still had problems and ended up cutting what was supposed to be a spider completely out. Now I call mine, "Spider On The Moon."

Pictures From Bowdle

We just got back from the annual hunting trip to Bowdle. It was nice seeing the family again and like always, the hunting was crazy and there were a TON of birds.

Friday Night Fun

It was another Friday night and Derek and I were sitting on the couch watching some T.V when he asked if he wanted me to paint my nails. I was a little shocked with the question at first, but I totally jumped on it! I had to take a picture because it just looked so funny, but he did a great job!

A little help (Derek)

We are trying to decide which picture to use for our wedding invitations and we can't quite decide. Please look at the following two pictures and vote (voting is on the right column). Also, any additional comments/feedback would be much appreciated!
