We LOVE Cake!!!

Yes we do! So much in fact that we couldn't wait for a year to bust out our cake top from the wedding! Last Monday we toasted to almost three months together and then dug in! I must say, it was really good and really worth it!!!

An Evening at the Aquarium

Saturday night Derek's company had a big evening event that included drinks, dinner, dessert, and dancing. What made this event so unique and fun was that they rented out the whole Seattle Aquarium and held the event in there. It was a very cool setting! They had tables set up throughout and we were able to walk around and enjoy all the exhibits with wine in hand. It was a lot of fun and we both really enjoyed the night!

A Beautiful Weekend...or Saturday at least!

The weather we had on Saturday was absolutely beautiful!! My mom saw where it hit 82 degrees in downtown Seattle and I believe her because Derek and I spent the afternoon at Alkai Beach, along with every other person living in Seattle, and I was able to wear a tank top and NOT be cold! I know, amazing. We had a lot of fun enjoying the sun and warm weather. We walked around a little bit, drank some bubble tea, skipped some rocks, and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the cascade mountains and the city from across the Puget Sound.

Saturday night we went to a bar in downtown Seattle for our friend Erin's 25th birthday. It was a fun party with lots of people and lots of karaoke. The crowd was very lucky to hear Derek sing "The Wheels on the Bus!" Along with the song we even got to see the arm and body motions that went along with the song. All I can say is it was pretty entertaining!

Gunther Update

We haven't written any Gunther updates for awhile so I figure I should let you guys know how he is doing. Well, he's still Gunther....he hasn't gotten any smarter, he still chews on the carpet, he still likes and expects his morning piece of toast, he hates getting sprayed with the water bottle, and he LOVES paper! Okay, even though he can be the biggest brat sometimes we both still think he is the most adorable little bunny. He provides us with evening entertainment and can even be a great cuddler. We just have to except the fact that no matter how many times we tell him no and spray him with the water bottle when he does something wrong, it will never register in his brain and 30 seconds later we will be telling him no and spraying him with the water bottle again!!

Biking Again

Derek has started to get back into riding his bikes again. The last few weeks he has been either road biking or mountain biking on a consistent basis and I can tell he is really enjoying it again, which makes me happy too. I wish I was more of a biker so we could go on more rides together, but the extremely bumpy trails always leave me cranky at the end of the ride. I think I will just stick to my running!

One thing that really cracks me up is the crazy gear that takes Derek about 20 minutes to get into. Maybe I just don't understand considering when I work out all I have to do to get ready is put on my running shoes. Derek on the other hand, well he has his biking gloves, his biking shoes, and then all of this funny looking spandex clothing that covers him from head to toe. I'm sorry, but I have to admit that I give him a lot of crap for wearing spandex! But on the other hand, if the spandex are to protect his body for if he ever crashes, which I hope NEVER happens, then I'm glad he wears. And Derek, you know I love you! I just like to give you a hard time for wearing spandex!!

More Baby Pictures!

She is just too cute!!!

Seattle superSonics (Derek)

You may be wondering why the "S" in super is not capitalized... It's because the Sonics are no longer that super. They are at around a 25% winning percentage this year (last in the NBA). This is quite sad, and is probably one of the reasons why the people in Seattle didn't fight to keep the Sonics in Seattle (they are moving to Oklahoma within the next few years).

Anyway, the point of this post is to say that Lacie and me went to our first NBA game together this weekend. We decided to wait an get our tickets in person instead of paying Ticketmaster $15 in service charges for two $10 tickets. The funny thing is that while waiting in line we were given a coupon for two free tickets with up to a $68 per seat value. We ended up sitting in the 20th row when were planning on sitting in the nose bleed section! Lacie was shocked that somehow we never end up paying full price for sporting events and other functions when we go together...maybe it's karma?

Back to the game. The Sonics played really well for the first three quarters of the game and ended up losing, but we had a fabulous time and will most likely attend another game at some point before they leave. The funny thing is that the most entertaining parts of the ball game was probably the cute little kids doing their dance routine, the air filled mock mascot that did a funny dance (picture a 3/4 inflated balloon that looks like the mascot, but is larger and has the delayed reaction of a balloon), and the races for kids (i.e. put on a full size basketball uniform and then run down the court and make a layup).

Bottom line...Great dates can be free!

Oh, and Lacie had Pho (Vietnamese soup) for the first time and liked it!
