Bollywood

I guess this post is going to be more of an update post because it really is just a mish mosh of things. On Saturday night there was an Indian play that also included dance, specifically Bollywood style dance. There was also really good Indian food that we really enjoyed. The play was put on my Cornell students and it was actually pretty good and quite funny. We did end up leaving a little early though because it was past Braedon's bedtime and he was letting us know.

On Sunday night, there was a Joint Ventures Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings and more desserts then you can imagine. Unfortunately I forgot my elastic waist pants. Joint Ventures is the spouse/family club and Cornell in case you were wondering what that was.

Braedon is still amazing me everyday. I think he is pretty close to crawling even though he looks like he's doing the superman every time he's on him tummy trying to crawl. He loves bananas and we can't walk in front of him with one without sharing. This has been difficult for me since I don't share food....ever, but when those big blue eyes are staring up at you and then at your banana and then you again, you can't help but give him a little bite. I have gotten a lot better at sharing.

Braedon has been sleeping from about 9pm until 7 or 7:30 am. Also, when he wakes up he isn't freaking out wanting booby right away which means I am able to get up before him and finish my workout and shower before he is ready to eat. He usually just chills on the couch like the cool kids and waits patiently for me to finish.

I have also decided that Baeo will never get to sleep with blankets. If you put anything like a blanket, pillow, even clothing around him he will bury his face with them and all you usually see is his little arms and little legs flailing about. It's actually quite funny.

Thanksgiving Break is this week and we are very excited. Derek has been going through what they call Hell Week at school and is in need of a vacation. Because he hasn't really been home for a week I am in need of a vacation as well.
I am happy to say that we have all completely recovered from Swine Flu. All I can say is swine flu will kick your butt. When I thought I was over it, I relapsed a week later and then it turned into bronchitis or walking pneumonia (I didn't want to get chest x-rays). Luckily antibiotics wiped it out and I think it's safe to say that I am all better after 3 weeks of illness. Ugh. Luckily Baeo never got it and Derek didn't suffer too bad. He did battle fatigue and just that worn down feeling that lingered for a couple of weeks.
So yes, we are all better and ready to come home in three weeks!

Half way...

to ONE!! I can't believe that in another 6 months my baby will be one year old. Time goes by so fast! Braedon is now sitting very well on his own, working on his bachelors degree (he was loving my sports psychology book), loving solids (I think he is going to be my human garbage disposal), talking up a storm (even though we can't understand him), picking up college chicks (I think he is the only guy that can get away with getting drool on a girl's cashmere sweater), playing wing man (he totally helped a guy go up and talk to a girl at the college today), and constantly making us laugh with his cute personality.

Oh, and yes I did make chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting to celebrate! What can I say, I love chocolate, but not as much as I LOVE this guy!

Baeo playing with his oatmeal

Braedon has discovered how to make sounds with his lips and he has also discovered that doing it with oatmeal in his mouth makes a huge mess. It is actually pretty funny and I have to try to control myself and not laugh, but most of the time I end up turning my head and laughing so he can't see me.

You can watch it here.

My dog called me out

Peyton spends most of her day cuddled up sleeping on the couch. However, whenever she hears my phone ring she jumps right up and heads to the back door and whines, wanting to be let out. You see whenever Derek is almost home he will call me and ask me to let Peyton out so she can greet him outside since we still have some problems with excited peeing. Peyton is working on this problem too. At first I thought it was very cute and that Peyton was pretty smart to relate the phone ringing with Derek almost being home. However, she totally called me out on being a loser! She knows that no one else really calls me, except my mom but that doesn't make me sound much cooler, so she assumes that when my phone rings, it will always be Derek. It really is pretty cute, except it can be annoying when my phone rings and it isn't Derek. Then I get to listen to a whiny dog who passes from window to door for the next 10 minutes because dad must be almost home since my phone rang. Oh, and I'm okay with being a loser and not getting many phone calls.

How long can the excuse last?

As Lacie said, we came down with swine flu which has just been absolutely exhausting. Thankfully I have been able to make it to most school functions that I couldn't miss so I am not too far behind. Unfortunately I have lost this little thing called motivation which still hasn't returned. I am wondering how long I can use the swine flu as an excuse for no longer having motivation. Maybe it's time for a mini-vacation!

Friends

Braedon is starting to just love Peyton. He will watch her every move and loves to pet her. In return Peyton will lick his face, which I discourage. I don't mind her licking him, just not his face! Anyway, it sure is fun watching these two interact. Peyton will let Braedon do anything to her...pull on her ears, pull her hair, touch her face...she is a really good and patient dog!

Oh, and does my boy have any muscles or anything in his neck? How does he do this!?

I watch him get into the funniest positions that just look painful!
