Home movie selection
Braedon: YEAH!
(Braedon rummages through the movies and shows Lacie three movies)
Braedon: Mom, pick a movie.
Lacie: Derek, look at what my options are.
(Lacie shows me Cars, Cars 2 and Mater's Tales)
Lacie: Braedon thanks for the great options. Let's watch Cars.
Braedon: No, let's watch Mater's Tales.
Lacie: Then why did you give me options?
Braedon: Let's watch Mater's Tales.
Lacie: How about we watch Cars 2.
Braedon: I don't like Cars 2. Let's watch Mater's Tales.
Lacie: You haven't watched Cars 2 in a LONG time.
(Braedon ultimately relented and they are watching Cars 2.)
Goods news is that Braedon is very kind. Bad news is that he is clearly not well rounded, as he only wants Cars movies and really just wants to watch one of them, and doesn't understand the concept of giving options then following through with his previous action.
Oh well, the kid is hilarious and awesome!
Side Note: Why did we spell our kid's names in a way that pisses off spell check?
Update: Since the first viewing of Cars 2 yesterday morning, Braedon has now watched it 2 more times. Maybe Mom and Dad actually do know what they are talking about when they say that their kid will like something.

Clean up
I didn’t know we had two dogs in the house.
Now that Adi can crawl wherever she feels like, I found her camped out under Braedon’s chair at dinner yesterday.
Looks like Peyton has some competition in the clean up department now. My girl loves to eat! Just like her momma.

Boys…
They steal your heart from the very beginning.
They are the best at giving endless amounts of hugs, cuddles, and kisses.
They shower you with presents, even if they were picked from the neighbors yard.
They sure know how to pick good friends.
They aren’t afraid to get a little dirty.
or have a little fun.
They make you feel good by telling you how pretty you are, even when you have just woken up and your hair is a mess. They give the sweetest compliments.
They think the world is their toilet.
They can be so gross, but so sweet at the same time.
They remind you to let the little things go and to just stop and smell the flowers.
Boys. You do your best to raise them hoping they will stay sweet, just like their daddies.

You got sand where?
Today was a wonderful day! We took a break from house hunting and went to Carmel to play at the beach. Everyone had fun! Peyton ran her little hear out, Braedon played in the sand, Adi ate the sand, I went for a run on the beach, and Derek hung out, watched the kids play, and played as well.
I ran about 6 miles and decided to include some sandy hill sprints. To get down to the beach, there is a pretty steep hill and Derek challenged me to it.
Then he said he bet I couldn’t carry Braedon up the hill. Was that another challenge?
Derek ran one too, just to prove he could.
Peyton thought we were stupid, but didn’t mind all the running.
After my run there was some serious sand castle making. Too bad, they didn’t stand a chance with the Branado.
On a side note, running 6 miles in the sand, barefoot, when your poor feet aren’t used to it might result in nasty blood blisters on your toes.
Your welcome. I know you wanted to see a picture of my nasty foot.

Three Year Stats
Today Braedon had his three year check up. Ever since the fly incident, he has been extremely afraid of the doctor. All the doctor had to do was walk in before Braedon frantically tried to crawl back up inside of me. Sorry buddy, that’s not how it works. Anyway, here are his stats.
Weight: 32 pounds
Height: 38 inches
Braedon put up a kicking and screaming fight, but he checked out perfectly healthy.
Three year milestones:
Talking. The boy wont stop. He talks in complete sentences and will go on and on. I am probably surprised almost every day with what will come out of his mouth.
He is completely potty trained and has been without a binky for well over a month now. He will still occasionally ask for it, but overall has been doing great. Although, I sometimes wonder if that is why his naps have been more horrible lately. He used to be a such a good napper and would go down without a fight and sleep for a couple of hours. Now, I consider myself lucky when he actually falls asleep.
He is very active and is constantly running, jumping, racing….you name it. He does not sit still.
He can be a very good helper around the house and likes to put clothes in the washer and dryer, unload the silverware from the dish washer, put his dirty clothes in the laundry, and throw away Adi’s diapers.
He still loves anything that has to do with cars/trucks and trains. He is getting into imaginary play and will actually have little conversations and make things up while playing with his toys. It’s pretty cute to watch and listen to.
He loves to read books, even though sometimes they are the same ones over and over again, he loves to put puzzles together, and play matching games.
He loves doing crafts, especially painting, cutting, and gluing things.
He is a great big brother and is always giving Adi toys to play with and making her laugh.
Let’s see how much he has grown!

Summer fashion
Now, to pull this look off, you don’t need much. Just a baseball cap and some kind of super hero underwear.
Don’t forget the, “I’m too cool for you,” attitude wiped across the face.
Also, you can add this toy to the list of things that I am afraid of.

Happy Birthday Braedon!
Today Braedon turned THREE! Man, I can’t believe my baby isn’t even considered a toddler anymore. He is growing up way too fast! Yesterday we had a birthday party for him and had some friends over for a BBQ and birthday cake.
How many kids can you fit in a sandbox?
Cake time!
For his birthday, Braedon specifically wanted the dinosaur cake from Costco. Considering I try to make any excuse to have a Costco cake, I made sure to fulfill his request.
He loved it!
This morning when he got up, he opened his presents.
Happy Birthday Braedon! We love you to the moon and back!
Braedon’s 3 year check up is on Tuesday, so I will do a Braedon post and what he has been up to after that.
