Halloween 2012

Happy early Halloween!! We started early last Friday.  Derek's work put on some fun Halloween stuff for the kids including a bounce house, carnival games, and trick or treating.  Braedon had a blast, as usual.  He totally gets Halloween now and knows it involves tons of candy!

Adi still doesn't get it and just wonders why I dressed her up in a goofy outfit. She did enjoy her first mini Snickers bar though, so I think she is beginning to be a fan too.

Braedon tried Pop Rocks for the first time and was a little weirded out by the popping in his mouth.

Adi tried the bounce house for the first time and even though she didn't do much bouncing, let alone move an inch, she couldn't stop laughing the whole time!

Here is to the start of the holiday season!!

Wonderwall

Baeo has been practicing his vocals and is doing pretty well on Wonderwall (by Oasis).  If he keeps this up then watch out Ladies, Baeo's fittin' to get funky (modified version of a quote from Cars).

On a related note, Adi absolutely loves to listen to people signing or playing the guitar.  She also gets excited when anyone else is excited which can make for noisy car rides when Baeo and her start competing for King/Queen of the Decibals.

Passed out

Have you ever played so hard you fell asleep right in the middle of it?  You may not agree, but lining up trains is hard work.

They seem quite concerned, don't they?

One of my favorite things to do as a mom is watch my babies sleeping.   These days I just never know how I will find my B man.  I guess that makes it even more fun, and makes for even better pictures!

Daily Shenanigans

We have been soaking up every minute of this fall weather lately!  With many trips to the park and lots of fun trail walks, we are absolutely loving being back home in Western Washington.  I just missed the fall colors, crisp weather, and gorgeous scenery.

At the park, Adi has mastered the slide.

This is our awesome walking trail that is connected to our apartment complex.
Braedon runs the whole time.  Because of that, I had to enforce a new rule that when I can no longer see him, he has to either stop and wait for me or run back.  I think this guy needs to do cross country in high school.  I'm hoping in about 10 years I will have a running buddy!

Yesterday, we walked with our bears.
In between playing at the park and going for walks, we have been finding ways to keep ourselves entertained.
Never a dull moment around here!

Incredible sunrise

We hired a professional photographer/videographer to capture the building of our house.  He is viewing the project as a fun experiment to try out a number of different techniques using new equipment.  This means that he is capturing some fun stuff.  He surprised us yesterday by sending us a time lapse of the sunrise from our great room, dining room, back deck and master bedroom.

Needless to say, we are very excited for it to be completed.

Pumpkin Patch 2012

On Sunday I took the kids to a pumpkin patch in Carnation.  It was a beautiful day and I'm not sure how many more days of sun we are going to be having, so I decided to take advantage of it!  Derek was out of town, so I was lucky enough to have my friend Jenny come along.

We rode a train, some other rides, had some lunch, and picked out our pumpkins.  It was a very fun morning!

I think Adi's favorite part was all of the pumpkins!  She loved crawling all over them.

I tried to talk her into a cute little one, but obviously it wasn't big enough for her.
She wanted one she could ride.

Who knew pumpkins could be so entertaining!

Braedon is really into bones and the human body right now, so I thought a picture with the skeleton was fitting.
Fall is here!!  I love this time of year!  In addition to the pumpkin patch, we have enjoyed spending lots of time at the park and going on lots of walks looking at and crunching leaves.

Already October?

Oh my goodness!  Where the heck did September go?  We had such a busy month filled with getaways and fun family time.  Just this last month we celebrated Adi's birthday, moved into our temporary apartment, Braedon started preschool, Derek left his job and got his dream one with Microsoft, Derek and I went on our first getaway sans kids, Derek helped his brother on his house, and lastly, I went to Vegas with my bestie.

When we were home, we played in the mud.  This is our version of a mud bath.  Not as nice as the spa, but it gets the job done.  Really, I came outside to find a pair of muddy boots, and a pair of muddy pants.  Where was the muddy boy and did I really even want to know.

By the way, in two days our computer broke and my phone broke.  With that said, we got the MacBook Air and in doing so, I no longer get access to my windows live writer.  That makes me so sad and until I figure out what else to use, I get to fight with Blogger, which just flat sucks.  Anyway, Derek and I went away to Whistler for a few days and had an absolute blast.  We took advantage of traveling alone and did everything we couldn't do with kids.  We went zip lining, trail running, horse bike riding, hiking, and even ate at restaurants that had cloth napkins.  It was wonderful.

Whistler was so fun and I am already scheming a winter trip there!  Once home, we relaxed in our downtime.  Derek took two weeks off in between jobs, so it has been so nice having him home!  Today, he is back to work:(
I will now be back to regular blogging as we are finally back to reality and normal schedules again.
