Good Times

Last weekend we went to Spokane to see friends and family one last time before we make our way to New York. (Derek leaves Tuesday) We got there in the afternoon and headed out to my friend Brooke's parents' house to BBQ and enjoy the lake.

Derek got to swim a horse for the first time and Peyton couldn't help but follow along and join in the swimming action.

Derek, being the awesome husband that he is, took over baby duty Friday night so that I could enjoy some time with my friends. I got to sleep through the night and wake up and enjoy a lovely outdoor workout by myself!

Saturday afternoon, Derek's aunt hosted a family get together at her house. Everyone got to meet Braedon for the first time. Unfortunately we weren't great at getting pictures with everyone.

New Experiences

It is so fun watching Braedon grow and change! He is way more awake these days laughing, trying to talk, and being extra observant. As you can see from the picture below, he might be a little vain. He loves his mirror, which makes tummy time a little more bearable now. Peyton is a great babysitter by the way!

He tried out his cousins car this weekend. He seemed to like it, but is still a little small for this toy, as you can see. When we put him in there he looked so funny and I couldn't stop laughing. Totally picture worthy. We did end up buying him an exersaucer this weekend that I know he is going to love once he is big enough for it in another month or so. This kid is busy and loves to be moving!

I also introduced him to his bumbo a couple of days ago and he has been sitting in it for a few minutes a day. He really does love it as he is able to sit up and look all around.

Rough ride home

I have been trying to ride my bike to work on a regular basis because it gives me time to get my workout in in without really adding much time to my day since it takes just a little longer than driving AND it is good for my health. There are days that are just great for riding and there are other days that kind of suck because of wind or rain. Today was a perfect day because it was sunny and warm...but the day took a turn for the worse when I went around a corner quite fast (30+ mph) on a crappy line. Unfortunately there was some loose sand/small gravel that I didn't know was there and I bit it hard. It was pretty fast so I am not sure what all was included in hard hit but there was a first a hard smack (the road put the smack on me) followed by some tumbling. There were a lot of cars around and I was even offered a ride home by a really nice guy despite it being out of his way. I turned his offer down because I wanted to see how hard I could push my body after a hard wreck and I made it home (although I was tempted to catch the bus or hitchhike since I had 7 miles of riding after the wreck). All that I have to say is that thankfully I was wearing a helmet because the helmet was busted up pretty good and that could have been my head.

A painful shower, stinging antiseptic wipes (that claim to be no sting), many bandages, and a couple hydrocodone and I am in top shape. Needless to say, my bike may be stay home next week.

I'll let the video speak for itself.

Braedon's first...

Haircut! Braedon's hair had started to fall out on the sides of his head leaving him with a patch of hair on the back of his head that stuck straight up. Megan was able to find us some good clippers and Derek was pretty excited about this. He came out of the bathroom one morning with a shaved chest and legs! I was a little surprised about the legs, but he insists that you can see his bulging calf muscles much better now. Since he ran out of things to shave on his own body and I wasn't going to let him touch me with the clippers, he went after innocent Braedon and that crazy hair of his. Braedon was a trooper and didn't cry at all during the process. I will also admit that it looks a lot better! No more old man hair!

Fourth of July

So I'm pretty sure everyone enjoyed their 4th of July this year. There was lots of good food, drink, and company...

I wouldn't really know exactly what went on though because I did this the whole day.

Has anyone ever experienced trying to breastfeed with the stomach flu? I have and it's not fun...at all!

Too cute for words!

My brother took some pictures of Braedon yesterday and this is one of my favorites! I can't believe he is already 8 weeks old!
