We’re baaacckkk…

IMG_5490

In Seattle Wednesday night!  Derek has a school competition at Microsoft next week and since his spring break also starts on Wednesday we decided to make a family trip out of it and head home for about a week.

As for that picture above…last Saturday we went to the Corning Glass Museum.  It was actually pretty interesting.  We saw the process of a glass bowl being made as well as all the history of how glass is made and finished glass products that date way back.

It was a fun outing and a fun day!

Snack Attack

I keep all of Braedon’s snacks together on a low shelf in the kitchen.  Well, he has discovered where they are and loves to crawl in there and just help himself whenever he feels like it.  His favorite seems to be these rice crackers.

Okay, looking at the picture, those aren’t all his snacks.  The Cheez-its and the Saltines are his daddy’s.

Braedon going for a walk!

Okay, it is assisted but he is still walking on his own!

A little game we play

I don’t know if all parents have the same experience, but it seems like we are constantly moving things away from our little one (he nicked a package of reese’s peanut butter cups while in the checkout line the other day).  Due to this game of keep away we usually have a follow-up game that I like to fondly call “where the heck is it”.  In this round we are looking for the remote…can you find it?

What a crack up

Have I told you how often Braedon makes me laugh?  Pretty much all the time!

He likes to suck on the outside of my water bottle.

Yeah, I know….real sanitary…

Baby gates and flying object

This title may be slightly misleading as we don’t have any baby gates and the object wasn’t flying…

As Lacie has mentioned many times, Braedon is becoming quite the little explorer which makes it quite difficult to get things done around here.  After repeated retrievals of the little rascal I realized that there is no need to chase him because we have a solid pocket door that would keep him in the living room.  So I closed said pocket door (it weighs a LOT) and the problem was solved as we now had a baby gate that no kid could beat.  Unfortunately the “baby gate” is a bit to heavy so I had to be the one to open it.  Herein lies the second problem, this house is old and you get random surprises with old houses.  When I opened the door there was something that looked like it could be an extremely old and dehydrated banana peel on the ground but I wasn’t sure what it was so I took a closer look.

For some reason Lacie doesn’t like her baby gate anymore and she is saying that the next place we live has to be new.

A little bit of Baeo

Braedon is getting more of a personality every day.  I find myself cracking up quite often, even when I should probably be disciplining.  He is so much fun to just sit back and watch as he explores every inch of the house.  I love it!

Picture 108 I find him under the table quite often just hanging out.

Picture 111 Things that were safe are now becoming fair game and are having to get moved even higher up on shelves and bookcases.

Picture 112 He loves to just lay on the floor and cuddle with me…or climb all over me…either way, it’s great and we have so much fun!

Picture 120 He’s finally getting the hang of the sippy cup and is now taking at least one milk feeding a day from one.

Picture 121 He’s learned that it is better to use too much toilet paper than too little when using the bathroom.

Picture 123 He is getting closer and closer to being able to stand by himself.  He actually stood on his own for about 10 seconds the other day!
