Just because

The only reason for this post is to show some cuteness.

Picture 003 Picture 007 Braedon is starting to ham it up for the camera. Whenever he sees it he gives me a big smile.

Braedon has also been practicing his standing alone and is getting very good at it. He will randomly let go to whatever he is holding on to, stand with his arms out to his sides and look at you with a big grin. You can just tell he is very proud. We have also been practicing walking where we will have Braedon walk from me to Derek. This kid has no fear and I think when he finally takes off, he’s just going to run.

Picture 018 He’s practicing his standing technique while watching dad out on the porch. He even took his very first step tonight! Just one, but hey it’s progress. I think he is going to catch on very fast!

One thing he is VERY good at.

Getting into the snacks! He was busted again. Actually I have to pull him away from the food pretty much all day long.

At least he was trying to share this time.

Check the garbage

Braedon has entered a new stage: Putting things in the garbage that don’t belong there.

Exhibit A: Picture 021 If you look real close you might be able to see a traveling coffee mug and a bag of granola.

This was after I had already removed a lid to one of my magic bullet cups and some Tupperware.  Other things that have ended up in the trash are my mixing bowls, Braedon’s bowls, and sippy cups.  I can’t help but laugh when I go to throw something away and find random stuff in the garbage.  We have however fixed this problem by putting the garbage up on a box so the lid is out of reach.  Braedon also likes to help me sort laundry…or un sort it if you ask me.  You see, I have two laundry baskets, one for darks and one for lights.  Braedon likes to take each piece of dark clothing and put them in the whites laundry basket one at a time.  Aww, my little helper!

Back to Seattle...for the summer!

I have accepted an offer to return to Seattle for an internship at T-Mobile doing product development/management for their content team this summer. This summer will be loaded with family and friend visits, biking to and from work, sleeping in a pretty empty apartment, and everything else that Seattle has to offer! We are all very excited, although somewhat nervous about Baeo and 5,600 miles of driving.

Trouble trouble

My mom came to visit last week while Derek was away for school and we had a very nice time together.  She was also a great help with Braedon and doing stuff around the house.  Thanks again mom, you are awesome!

Braedon is almost one year old and man is he into EVERYTHING.  He has figured out how to open the kitchen garbage and today I turned around and caught him gnawing on a banana peel.  Umm, gross.  He has also figured out how to open the DVD cases and take out the DVD’s.  Yeah, not cool either.  Tonight after he went to bed Derek fixed that problem by fixing the lock on our entertainment center and locking it up.

Here are a few more pictures that show what Mr. Baeo has been getting into.  He keeps me on my toes!!

I also brought out a bag of giant Legos for something new today but Braedon just destroyed everything I tried to build faster than I could make it.  Whatever.  He also likes to crawl into his bedroom, shut the door and then cry because he can’t get back out. Oh, but if you try to help him…well he doesn’t like that either so it’s kind of a lose lose situation.

He still isn’t saying any words yet but he does say, “dadadadada” to everything and when you ask him anything so yesterday when I got a whiff of him and asked him who he would like to change his diaper.  Of course he wanted, “dadadada.”

Randomness

This post is going to be pretty scattered.  Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

First of all, I have been having a serious craving for these the past week:

DORITOS_NACHO_CHEESE__Flavored_Tortilla_ChipsI’m not sure where it came from but when Derek was going to the store to drop off his dry cleaning and asked me if I wanted anything from the store I quickly responded with DORITOS!!!  I don’t know what it is about Doritos, but does the taste remind anyone else of summer days picnicking outside, BBQ’s, the beach and even peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?

The last week has been absolutely beautiful here.  We have been taking advantage of the extra warm weather by going on tons of walks and taking trips to the lake.  I also bought Braedon his own little bucket with sand toys which he tested out today and proved to be a success.

After months of interviews and unknowns, Derek received a call today and we are 99% sure where we will end up this summer for Derek’s internship.  Tomorrow we will be 100% sure so you will have to wait to find out then.

Also, I have been struggling with keeping myself and Braedon busy during the days.  So to those moms out there who have already been through the only-one-child-who-is at-the-11-month-old-stage where their kids are crazy busy into everything but still has the attention span of an ant, what did you do to fill the days?  Any ideas?

Alright, time to get back to my Biggest Loser show!

Easter 2010

Happy Easter!!!  We had a fabulous Easter weekend with great summer-like weather in the 80’s.  We went to the lake two days in a row and Braedon had his first experience with sand, which he LOVED!  He did try to eat a few rocks and sticks though so I made sure to pay good attention, but for the most part he just sat in the sand and played with it, threw it and poured it on me.  Peyton also had a great time that consisted of Frisbee fetching, duck chasing, and playing in the water.

Braedon had fun tearing through his Easter basket this morning!

Oh look, they match again.  This time unintentionally.  I sure do love my boys!

I think Braedon would be content sitting outside for hours.  He absolutely loves being outside, which should make summer very fun!!

Overall, a very fun filled weekend with the best weather since last summer!
