Play like Braedon and it might just count as a real workout!
This is Braedon’s serious face.
He practices randomly throughout the day. Even though this means serious business, I can’t help but laugh.
But mostly graham crackers.
Every Wednesday after work, Derek plays volleyball in a park a couple blocks from his office. I thought it might be fun for a little change of pace to take the kids to watch him and play in the grass.
Braedon was so excited and was asking me non stop for about 2 hours prior when we were going to go watch daddy play “bolleyball” and play “soccer ball” in the park. We finally got to go meet up with dad and my little man was so excited that he fell and tripped on the pavement while we were walking to the volleyball game.
See his forehead? He got a pretty good bump out of that fall. Nothing graham crackers can’t fix.
Right Adi?
Whenever I have something planned I should never assume it will turn out the way I think it will. Instead of cheering on daddy and happily kicking the soccer ball around with my little guy, I had to tell him 3 million times that he couldn’t play volleyball with the big guys, to stay off the volleyball court, and keep Adi from eating herself into a graham cracker coma.
I guess 2 out of 3 isn’t bad.
Derek’s team won and is playing for first place next Wednesday! However, his team will have to play without this cheerleading squad.
It’s not like we did much cheering anyway. Mostly eating…and then rolling around in all the leftover crumbs.
I think they’ll be just fine.
Nothing says summer like a big ice cream cone on a hot sunny day.
Adi was able to mooch a bite. It took a lot of screeching and trying to look as cute as she could on her part though.
When I think of summer, I always go back to memories of being a kid…
Summer break
Camping at Banks Lake
Block parties
Sleepovers with my friend Gina
Otter Pops
Going to the neighborhood pool
Playing soccer, baseball, basketball in the yard with my dad, brother, and sister after dinner
Sun tea
Neighborhood hide and seek
Barbeques
Riding bikes and jumping rope
Corn on the cob
Staying up late and sleeping in
Ahh, those were the days!
Not much to report here.
Just another day of house hunting to look forward to, or not, tomorrow.
Wish us luck!
I took the kids to the Children’s Discovery Museum in San Jose a couple days ago and they had a blast! Braedon’s favorite part? The water area.
Adi’s favorite part? Clifford’s playhouse.
Adi turned 9 months old on the first!
Don’t you just love that hair? I tried to put a barrette in it the other day but she pulled it out and then tried to eat it.
Today was her 9 month checkup and here are her stats:
Weight: 18.65 pounds
Height: 29 inches
Adi is now completely mobile and is on the move all the time. She hates to cuddle and gives you the cold shoulder whenever you try to give her a kiss. Derek hates this. At least Braedon is still cuddly.
She loves going for her brother’s toys. Braedon’s solution is to drag her by her ankles as far back as he can, but like I said before, she’s quick.
She not only loves Baeo’s toys, but she loves Baeo.
These two crack each other up all the time and have turned into my dinnertime entertainment.
Adi still has one lonely tooth, but it looks like another one should be popping up any time now. She is also starting to get more vocal and will say momma when she is whiney and wants to be held. If you ask her to say something then she tries to mimic what you just said. She has also started babbling to herself and her toys.
Her love for food is growing and if she is on the floor while someone else is eating she will scoot over and lay under the chair/table and wait for food to drop. It’s like we have two dogs right now. So far I haven’t come across anything she doesn’t like. I would say her absolute favorite thing is oatmeal.
She loves music! She will sit and listen to Derek play the guitar with the biggest grin on her face and she loves all the music toys we have.
She takes two naps during the day that last around 2 hours each and goes to bed at 6:30 and sleeps until 7. She is such a joy to have around!
We love you baby girl!
