This motto made me stop and think a little.  I want to so badly live my life to the fullest while making the most out of everything and enjoying every step of the way!

It’s about to happen

Adi's first step

I had to scoop Lacie and break the news that Adi took her first unassisted step!  She stood up on her own then took a step and fell.  I give us a week before she is walking all over the house looking like a drunk sailor.

Got his nails did

Yesterday morning I was sitting at the table with Braedon, but obviously wasn’t paying enough attention.  Okay, maybe I was too distracted with some texting going on when my mom blurted out, “look at your son!”

I thought he was just eating strawberries, but apparently he can multi task.  He had his whole right hand already painted. 

After his finger nails were nice and polished he replied, "we need to to do my toes next.”  He will still want to play soccer, won’t he?  Won’t he?

Lots of play time!

Man, the last few days have been filled with lots of fun!  It all started out nice and leisurely on Thursday morning.  There was some gazing out the window…

 

and a nice breakfast to get us through.

My parents left Thursday morning for a weekend getaway, so the kids and I picked up Aunt Jen from work, got some lunch (for them) and coffee (for me), came home for naps, and then went apartment hunting.  We are renting a place walking distance to Microsoft, which is where Derek is start is dream job on October 1st!!  The upside?  We are in an awesome location!  The downside?  We are squeezing into an 1100 square foot apartment.  I guess that will just make the move into our new house much more special.

On Friday we went to the fair!!  You know who makes the best riding partners?

These two!  We got them both wrist bands for unlimited rides and for whatever rides Braedon needed an adult to ride with, well he had Jen!  They rode their little hearts out!

They made the perfect pair!  Along with lots of rides, we checked out the animals, rode a tractor, ate a couple of fair treats, and then called it a day after a solid 5 hours.

Saturday morning we drove down to Olympia to spend the day with my brother and his family.  Olympia’s Children’s Science Center put on their annual “sand in the city,” where there was a bunch of free stuff for the kids.  It was so much fun!

Braedon kept asking if he could knock them over.  We had to keep a close eye on that one, let me tell you.  Braedon and cousin Lilly had a blast making hats at the craft section, digging for shells in the sand and making a necklace out of them, digging in a pile of dirt, holding sea stars and other things, and playing with bubbles.

After getting lunch at the farmer’s market, we went back to Matt and Kori’s so Adi and cousin Camille could nap.  Braedon and Lilly played together the whole time.  Those two are so fun to watch!

On Sunday we went in to Seattle and spent a good half of the day.  Today I took Braedon in and got him all signed up and ready for preschool.  My little man starts on the 10th!  So exciting, but I just can’t believe he is already starting preschool.  We also have Adi’s birthday party on Saturday, which is also the same day Derek and I will be moving some stuff out of storage and into our apartment.  We will be completely moved in by Sunday.  So yes, we have been and will continue to be jam packed busy for the whole month of September!

Homeless

So, we have been homeless for about 3 weeks now.  I’ve always wondered what homeless people do with their day.  We are lucky enough to have my parents take us in…because I don’t know what we would do without our I-Pads.

If Adi sees an I-Pad lying around and you are in her way, she WILL knock you down to get to it.  This girl is a brute, just sayin.

We also got to visit with great grandma and great grandpa.

Hopefully when she starts walking this growth I call Adi might go away.

We have also been testing out some new looks for fall.

Can you say giddy up?

To sum it up, we have been having fun being homeless, but are anxiously awaiting for the day we move into our new home.  To update you all, we bought a new house on Snoqualmie Ridge that has yet to be built.  The cool thing about this is we are building our dream home!  We are very excited and can’t wait until it is done, which wont be until February.  With that said, we will be renting in Redmond for the next six months until our house is ready.

Other than that, not much else to report here.

Heading home

As many of you know, we made it to Seattle last Thursday.  The Sunday before we packed and loaded up the moving truck.

Then, for the next 2 days we pretty much camped it out.

Adi especially loved eating off the floor.

So did Peyton.  Tuesday day and night I worked my butt off getting the house clean and Derek finished up the last of the loading, which always takes twice as long as you think it will!

Peyton has moved so many times now, this whole thing was NBD.

Oh, I loved my temporary workout studio!

Wednesday morning we were up at 5:30 to get out on the road and beat rush hour.  Our trek took us right through San Francisco.  Braedon got to ride in, “the big moving truck.”  He loved it!  So much that when we got out to let them play at the beach and collect sea glass he cried.  He just wanted to get back in the big moving truck.

Adi enjoyed herself a little more.

Then we took the long way through the redwoods, which was about 8 hours of slow and curvy roads.

At dusk we came across the most elk I have ever seen!

We ended up going farther than planned Wednesday night so we got to Seattle a day earlier and surprised my parents.  They left for vacation on Friday afternoon, so we have been staying at the house, keeping an eye on my sister, Derek’s been working from home, and I have been hanging with the kids. Today I took them down to the park to feed the ducks.

You can tell they are fed by humans.  A lot.

Baeo and Adi loved it.

Along with park visits, hanging out with friends, and enjoying the best Seattle coffee ever, we have been house hunting and I think we are close to finding our dream home.  More potential big news to come.  Sorry, but I have to keep you hanging again!

It feels so good to be home!
