We’ve been home for over a week now and there is only one word to describe it. COLD. Our highs are in the single digits and our lows are in the negatives. I don’t like going outside. We have had quite a bit of snowfall as well, and I have to admit that I do like that. I love watching the snow fall and waking up in the morning to snow covered streets. We have managed to get out and go on a fun little hike in the snow when the temps were up in the 20s. That was a warm day. I do have to add that Braedon doesn’t like to get snow on his boots though. His hike turned into a ride from his dad and myself. So much for trying to wear him out!
Despite the cold weather, we have really enjoyed our last week and a half of vacation. We have had our fair share of lazy, late mornings just hanging out in our pajamas. It has been nice to be able to sit back and relax and not have to do anything. Derek starts his final semester tomorrow though, so that will have to change.
Since it is way too cold to really enjoy the snow outside, we have taken Braedon to the Science Center here in Ithaca and yesterday we revisited the huge Children’s Museum in Rochester that we visited a couple of months ago, followed by dinner at Chipotle. As always, he had a ton of fun and completely wore himself out.
This was his first time on a carrousel and he did not want to get off. He made that very clear to us and everybody around him.
Since we haven’t been doing much outdoors, Braedon has been keeping himself busy around the house.
Pretending to be a dog. Don’t you just love the bed head? Some guys work for hours on their hair to get that look.
Practicing his motorcycle skills.
Catching up on the latest exercise equipment over a quick meal.
Snuggling in his sleeping bag.
And enjoying some extra warmth…
…with dad.
