PH balanced for a child…strong enough for a Lacie

A while back Lacie bought a child swing for Braedon at a garage sale but it took us a while to hang it although we finally got it done on Sunday.  Braedon, Liam, and Aiden all loved the swing (we didn’t get pictures on Sunday but the following picture from today gets the message across).

There were questions about the strength of the 4x12 beam that I hung it from as well the quite thick metal eye screws that I used…but Lacie decided that the kids shouldn’t have all of the fun and she proved that it can hold at least 100 lbs (we’ll withhold the actual weight from our blog or else I will likely get hit).

As a Fourth of July wrap-up:

  • Megan makes a great apple pie (two varieties actually)
  • USPS delivers presents from Amberly to Aiden and Liam faster than Derek
  • Don’t always listen to the allrecipies.com reviews on food as doubling the chipotle peppers is not a good idea on the spicy chipotle turkey burgers
  • Kettle BBQ chips should not be left on a table because they will be eaten (this also goes for Megan’s apple pie)
  • Rainier Cherries are the best cherries but you should eat them in moderation…
  • Jon likes to spread his love…he has riden all five motorcycles over the last two days

Imagine Children’s Museum

Yesterday we decided to take Braedon to the Children’s Museum in Everett, which was more like a Science Center for kids. When we walked in the door and saw all they had to offer, I may have squealed a little out of excitement. Yes, I was probably more excited than Braedon. We were there for a couple hours and still didn’t see everything. There is so much to do and see and Braedon had an absolute blast!

There was a tractor to play on and a horse to ride.

Braedon also got to dig for dinosaur bones.

And play music..

He even drove a car and bus, which he loved.

Braedon also ran a bank…

made some money,

There was a tree house…

and a tower to walk up and look out over the city of Everett.

Braedon didn’t quite get the concept of using his eyes…

This place was awesome and I will be back many more times before we leave this summer.

After the museum we came home to turkey!

Yes, there really was a turkey in our driveway. Very random, I know!

Really!?

So I got woken up last night by Derek’s hand smacking me in the back and him flailing up in bed and just sitting there.  Now this isn’t anything new with Derek as he has been known to talk in sleep and do other weird things on numerous occasions.  I knew he was dreaming but I thought I would ask anyway….

Me: Ummm, what are you doing?

Derek:  I’m calculating business expenses!

Me: Oh, okay….you should lay back down.

As I thought about it a little bit more, I couldn’t help but laugh, even in my groggy, sleep deprived state.  I thought maybe he would say he was fighting off gang members or doing some of this:

Which by the way is still pretty insane!

Nope, my man was doing accounting calculations.  Hmmm…maybe if accounting excited me as much as it does Derek I wouldn’t have ended up taking it twice in college…

Our little cuddle bug

Braedon absolutely loves to cuddle with anything that looks soft and cuddly.  He will just burrow his head in and lay back.  He has found my parents’ big labs to be especially cuddly and lucky for him they don’t mind.  Well, they put up with it at least…who knows what is really going through their minds!

I think he is going to miss his furry friends when we leave.

Braedon making a break for it

We’re in trouble now!

Happy Father’s Day Derek

printbaeo4

On my wedding day I knew I was the luckiest girl in the world to be marrying just a fine man.  Thanks Kent and Debbie for raising such a good one!  However, I didn’t know at that time that there would be people on this planet that were even luckier…his kids.  Derek is an incredible father and has been from day 1.  He is hands on, loving, nurturing and only wants the best for his little Baeo and it definitely shows.  I could just sit back and watch those two interact all day long!

Left..left…left, right, left…

As I have mentioned before, Braedon has started walking and continues to get better and faster each day.  I would say that he now walks the majority of the time and is loving every minute of it!
