Car racing and other stuff

Home Depot has a fun activity for the little kids one Saturday a month, so this morning while I was running Derek took Braedon and Adilyn.  It just so happened that today was car making and racing day!  Braedon had a blast!  He helped make the car and even did the hammering, and then obviously loved the racing part too.

They even get cute little aprons with their names written on them!

After car racing, they went to Costco to do the weekly shopping/lunch trip (Braedon loves the samples and hot dogs at Costco which comes with the sugar free lemonade that you see in the picture).  When they got home Braedon decided to help dad with his boat bed.

Derek is almost done with the bed!  Well, the painting still needs to be done, but the hard stuff is pretty much done.
On a random note, every time Adi has a poopy diaper both Baeo and Peyton come running.

Can anyone tell me what is so cool about poop?
My friend Jenny was here visiting this past week and we got to spend a couple of days with her!  Braedon and Adi just adore her and we miss her already!!

Now how about a Braedon comment to end the post?  We were sitting and having dinner a couple of nights ago while Braedon sat there playing with a piece of his chicken.  He looked up at us very seriously and said, “The chicken doesn’t want to go to the party in my tummy.”  This kid is constantly making us laugh.  I love it!

Num nums just took on a whole new meaning…

In Adi’s little world anyway.  Yes Adi, there are even better num num's than booby.

Adi will be 6 months next week!  Where the heck does the time go?  Since she is almost 6 months I decided to start introducing some solids this week.  Mashed banana anyone?

She took it like a champ and now I can’t eat a meal in front of her without getting stared down.

Sorry Adi, mommy doesn’t share food.  Just ask Braedon.

Big Basin Redwood State Park

Derek had the day off today and we have wanted to do some more exploring in the area, so we decided to drive to a state park about an hour away that has a ton of hiking trails and pretty scenery. Unfortunately, Baeo has been sick and still wasn’t feeling well today, so he wasn’t his perky self and we didn’t stay too long. We were also breaking a few rules by having Peyton with us and letting Braedon ride his bike on the trails. Both were prohibited. Oops.

Braedon loves his bike, but he is an absolute nut on that thing. He can go really fast on it and is somewhat out of control. Peyton fears for her life.

Picture 111

After he purposely ran into a 1 year old we decided it was time to go. On a brighter side, Adi is loving her Ergo now! When she was littler she pretty much hated it and would scream on and off the whole time. Now she just stares at me and gives me the biggest smiles. I love it!

See…big trees.

See…a cranky and sick Baeo (that needed to be carried by me despite already carrying Adi).

And the award goes to…..

Braedon!  For the most awesome hair ever, post nap.

Picture 015

I don’t even know what he could have been doing to get his hair like this.  Every strand of hair on his head was messed up.

New fashion statement?  Maybe.

Trip to Seattle

As I mentioned before, the kids and I flew home to Seattle a couple of weeks ago.  Braedon was so excited to get on a plane and go to grandma and grandpas house!  We had to make a paper countdown that I put up on the wall to help show him when exactly we would get to leave.  Also, when I told him that it was time to bring out the suitcase and start packing, he informed me that he already has his suitcase and was ready to go.

If I would have let him leave with just that he would of had to wear nothing but Thomas the train books for the whole week.  I was a little nervous having to fly with them on my own, but we lucked out and Adi was able to get her own seat as well.  They both did great on the way there, but had minor meltdowns on the way back.  I will blame that on the fact that we flew home past their bedtimes.

Picture 007

Braedon loves the Wonder Pets and asked grandma if she could make him a red cape just like the one Tuck wears on the show.  When we got back to the house he was very excited to see his new cape.

You better believe he wore that thing to dinner.

Then he tried to push his luck and asked grandma to build him a fly boat.  Sorry man, that’s not going to happen.

My friend Jenny came up to visit on Sunday!

Picture 012

It was so nice to hang out and catch up with her.  Although when she refused to change a diaper I kicked her out.  What is up with that anyway?

We just had a great time hanging out with grandma, Auntie Jenny, and grandpa.  The week went by way too fast!

The kids really did have fun.  I promise.

Braedon just loves his Auntie Jenny!

Addicted to crack

The crack being Listerine strips.  I did a post about this probably a little over a year ago talking about how Braedon loved Listerine strips.  Derek received a bunch back at Cornell during one of the sage socials and we still have a few packages of them.  We keep some in our bathroom and whenever we are up there getting ready or something, Braedon will come running in asking for a Listerine strip.

Yesterday, things got way too quiet so Derek went up to check on him.  This is what he found.

Braedon took it upon himself to get some Listerine strips.  I guess when the craving hits, it hits hard.

He went into his bathroom to get his stool, carried it into our bathroom, climbed up on the sink and helped himself.

Busted!  I wonder if there is any kind of rehab for something like this.  At least he always smells fresh.

The last couple of weeks

Unfortunately, this update post is going to be picture less, because my computer is broken and it wont be fixed for at least two weeks! How did I survive without a computer? I feel so out of the loop!

Last week, the kids and I flew to Seattle to see my family. I was a little nervous about flying with both of them alone because I was going to be outnumbered, but overall, they both did great! It only being a 2 hour flight helped too. So much better than having to fly from Ithaca!

The week was really nice. Braedon just loves grandma and grandpa's house! When we were sitting at the airport waiting to come back home Braedon told me that he missed grandma, but she was going to fly to us soon. We didn't do a whole lot, except hang out and relax. I got to get in a couple of runs outside, and take a spin class, which I have missed so much! After marathon training is over, you better believe I will be back in spin!

Derek played bachelor while we were gone and seemed to do just fine! Work kept him busy as well as working on Braedon's boat bed. I secretly would love a quiet week on my own! It is nice to have our family back together again though.

I promise to post pictures next time I am able to because lets be honest, pictures totally make a post.
