Braedon and his furry friends
We decided to let Baeo sleep with some of his stuffed animals the other night. We had them lined up on the side of his crib when we said goodnight. I wish I had a picture after the bomb went off in his crib, Braedon being the bomb. After we put him to bed we heard a lot of talking going on in his room. A conversation was going on amongst Braedon and his furry friends. When Derek went in to check on him before he went to bed he said all the animals were scattered around all four corners of the crib and Braedon was sound asleep in the middle.

Keeping the Tradition Going
This year we are spending Thanksgiving with some classmates and friends. A couple of our friends are nice enough to cook the turkey and then everyone else is bringing sides
. Derek had mentioned that he wanted to make Grandma Peterson's orange rolls. I wasn't really sure what to expect but when he said to think cinnamon roll expect with an orange zest middle I was in. He had me at cinnamon roll. After getting the directions from Amberly and finding out the whole process takes 5 hours, we got started at 8 am. As you can see, Peyton was overwhelmed with excitement.
Braedon watched the Thanksgiving Parade for awhile...Derek rolled....

Braedon watched with excitement...

Derek cut...
we placed them on on the cookie sheet, put them in the oven, then realized they are supposed to sit for 45 more minutes, so we took them back out of the oven...65 minutes later....

MMMmmmm.....yeah they're good! We have decided to make this one of our new traditions. We thought this would be a fun thing to do every year for Thanksgiving and eventually our kids can get in on the baking action. Derek made the comment that the smell reminded him of growing up...I'm glad we were able to bring some of his childhood memories into our house today!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Bollywood
I guess this post is going to be more of an update post because it really is just a mish mosh of things. On Saturday night there was an Indian play that also included dance, specifically Bollywood style dance. There was also really good Indian food that we really enjoyed. The play was put on my Cornell students and it was actually pretty good and quite funny. We did end up leaving a little early though because it was past Braedon's bedtime and he was letting us know.On Sunday night, there was a Joint Ventures Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings and more desserts then you can imagine. Unfortunately I forgot my elastic waist pants. Joint Ventures is the spouse/family club and Cornell in case you were wondering what that was.

Braedon is still amazing me everyday. I think he is pretty close to crawling even though he looks like he's doing the superman every time he's on him tummy trying to crawl. He loves bananas and we can't walk in front of him with one without sharing. This has been difficult for me since I don't share food....ever, but when those big blue eyes are staring up at you and then at your banana and then you again, you can't help but give him a little bite. I have gotten a lot better at sharing.

Braedon has been sleeping from about 9pm until 7 or 7:30 am. Also, when he wakes up he isn't freaking out wanting booby right away which means I am able to get up before him and finish my workout and shower before he is ready to eat. He usually just chills on the couch like the cool kids and waits patiently for me to finish.

I have also decided that Baeo will never get to sleep with blankets. If you put anything like a blanket, pillow, even clothing around him he will bury his face with them and all you usually see is his little arms and little legs flailing about. It's actually quite funny.

Thanksgiving Break is this week and we are very excited. Derek has been going through what they call Hell Week at school and is in need of a vacation. Because he hasn't really been home for a week I am in need of a vacation as well.
I am happy to say that we have all completely recovered from Swine Flu. All I can say is swine flu will kick your butt. When I thought I was over it, I relapsed a week later and then it turned into bronchitis or walking pneumonia (I didn't want to get chest x-rays). Luckily antibiotics wiped it out and I think it's safe to say that I am all better after 3 weeks of illness. Ugh. Luckily Baeo never got it and Derek didn't suffer too bad. He did battle fatigue and just that worn down feeling that lingered for a couple of weeks.
So yes, we are all better and ready to come home in three weeks!

Half way...
to ONE!! I can't believe that in another 6 months my baby will be one year old. Time goes by so fast! Braedon is now sitting very well on his own, working on his bachelors degree (he was loving my sports psychology book), loving solids (I think he is going to be my human garbage disposal), talking up a storm (even though we can't understand him), picking up college chicks (I think he is the only guy that can get away with getting drool on a girl's cashmere sweater), playing wing man (he totally helped a guy go up and talk to a girl at the college today), and constantly making us laugh with his cute personality.

say that Braedon had a great first Thanksgiving. He had fun being passed around amongst the girls and even got his first little taste of some cranberries.
