We’re back!

Braedon and I have been in Seattle the last two weeks while Derek has been playing bachelor here in Ithaca.  We had a lot of fun seeing family and friends but I am NEVER flying across the country, by myself, with an almost 2 year old again.  Actually, I am never flying with an almost 2 year old again.  Period.  So, if anyone wants to see us again in the next 8 years or so, we will be in San Jose, CA or driving distance from San Jose, CA.

Let’s just forget about the travel and I’ll share some fun stuff from our trip!  It rained quite a bit while we were there, but it wasn’t cold, so that was a plus!  We were able to keep ourselves plenty busy though and had lots of fun hanging out with the family.  Braedon just loves his grandma, grandpa, and Aunt Jenny.  It was so cute to see him get so excited whenever Jenny came into the room or when grandpa got home from work each night.  He would literally squeal and run around the house in excitement.

Looking at motorcycles with grandpa.  Braedon pronounces it, “Papa.”

These two have so much in common, it is scary.  Braedon had started wanting to sit on his potty while we were back visiting but the poor thing is a little confused and would ask AFTER he had already gone potty.  It’s okay buddy, it’s definitely a start!  However, he can’t sit on the potty unless he has a motorcycle magazine in his hand.  Just like his grandpa!

Braedon is also very into the movie Cars and boy did grandma spoil him with new toy cars while we were there.  He loves them and I have never seen him play so hard with certain toys before.

Kayla served as the parking lot every once in awhile.

We had a few sunny days and took advantage of one of them by going to the park.

He LOVED the slide and feeding the ducks!

If you’re wondering what Braedon is doing in this picture, he is quacking.

See?  Quacking.  He was having full on conversations with the ducks.  I think they understand him better than I can.

I also got an idea from a friend of mine back in Ithaca and decided to let Braedon “paint” in colored pudding.

And by “paint” I mean eat.

We also went to the Tot Spot Cafe one morning, which is my favorite cafe ever and should really start one in San Jose if they don’t have such a thing.  It is a cafe with really good coffee, lunch stuff for the little ones, and good, healthy stuff for the parents.  What makes this place different is that it is also a play place with tons of toys and things for the little kids to play with.  They have couches and tables for the moms and the kids can just play.  Awesome!

Braedon’s favorite is the big fire truck.

This last weekend my high school Spokane friends came to visit so I was able to get away for a couple days and catch up with my old friends.  We all had a great time!  I love how we have been out of high school for almost 10 years and are still so close.  Whenever we get together it is like nothing has even changed!

Dinner at The Rock because whenever they come in to town we have to go to The Rock.

Such a fun trip but it is nice to have our family together again!  Two weeks is a long time to be separated!
